Today, IRCC released an updated list of <strong>eligible fields of study<\/strong> to reflect the <strong>2025 Express Entry priorities<\/strong>. Notable changes include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>119 new fields<\/strong> added, with a strong focus on:<ul><li><strong>Health care and social services<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><ul><li><strong>Early childhood education and teaching<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Skilled trades and vocational training<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>178 fields removed<\/strong> that are no longer aligned with jobs identified as having long-term shortages.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>As a result of these revisions, there are now a total of <strong>920 eligible fields of study<\/strong> for PGWP purposes under this policy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Transitional Provisions:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Students who applied for a study permit <strong>before June 25, 2025<\/strong>, remain eligible for a PGWP <strong>based on the list in effect at the time of their application<\/strong>, even if their program has since been removed from the updated list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Important Notes:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>This policy does <strong>not apply to students pursuing bachelor\u2019s, master\u2019s, or doctoral degrees<\/strong>, who remain eligible for PGWPs regardless of field of study.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The list of eligible fields is based on the <strong>Classification of Instructional Programs (CIP)<\/strong> system.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">For More Information:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To review the complete and updated list of eligible fields of study, visit the official <strong>IRCC website<\/strong> or click on the link: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/immigration-refugees-citizenship\/services\/study-canada\/work\/after-graduation\/eligibility\/field-of-study\/currently-eligible.html\">https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/immigration-refugees-citizenship\/services\/study-canada\/work\/after-graduation\/eligibility\/field-of-study\/currently-eligible.html<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To know more, please contact us at 778-385-2294 or <a href=\"mailto:info@makewayimmigration.com\">info@makewayimmigration.com<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>June 25, 2025 To qualify for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP), students enrolled in non-degree programs (including diplomas, certificates, and associate-level studies) must now complete a program in a field of study that is aligned with Canada\u2019s long-term labour market needs.
